So… for those of you who attended the Montreal Burlesque Festival last night, I may or may not have promised to show anyone and everyone my boobs upon request, at any given time, in any given place.

As it turns out, flashing people in public is not yet legal in Montréal which, in all honesty, I find appalling.

Anyway. I recently got an email from a woman who praised me for being beautiful, talented and glamorous (thank you) then made reference to me being a man-eater, leaving trails of emasculated men in my wake (fair enough), without a care in the world for the people I hurt (hey!) in the process. And she asked…

“What good is being glamorous, beautiful and talented if you live such a self serving, shallow and superficial life? How can you do a job so devoid of depth and real feeling? Sex is not love.”

Needless to say, I was a little hurt by the implications. I do have feelings, I swear!

And to prove it, I wrote this very deep, loving song about my deep loving feelings. Deep.

Award-winning fiction and documentary director, filmmaker, creative producer, videographer, photographer, visual artist AND documentarian, Patricia Chica is at it again!

Chica’s short films are presented at film festivals around the world. She has experience working on a wide variety of projects (docu-drama, reality-based television series, music videos, fiction short films and glamour photography) and her credits include works for MTV USA, Oxygen, Bravo!, Showcase, National Geographic, Travel Channel, CBS and Sony Music (among others).

She debuted her first feature rockumentary in 2008 ROCKABILLY 514 and we are waiting with baited breath for what is sure to be it’s delectable side dish: Burlesque Stories.

DD: Do you remember the first Burlesque show you ever attended?

PC: First Burlesque show Blue Light Burlesque at Club Soda, Second: Diary of a Lost Circus at Petit Campus

DD: Oh… I remember you coming to the Diary Of A Lost Circus show…

What was your impression?

PC: WOW! I can do a film about this and these people!

DD: How many cities/states/countries do you plan to shoot in? Is there there a target date for the release of the film?s there there a target date for the release of the film?

PC: The series project is still in development. We will know by year’s end where we will be shooting and when.

Locations I want to shoot at: New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Vancouver, London, Paris and of course… my lovely Montreal!

DD: What is the most interesting thing you have learned about Burlesque since you started filming?

PC: I have learned a lot and I’m still learning. It’s all about self-confidence, self-expression and attitude. The burlesque crowds are integral parts of the show. It’s addictive. It’s a way of seeing the world. It’s totally a lifestyle!
